Full-time Mommy

While my Heroic Husband has been in seminary, it has been my honor and privilege to work full-time.  While we were dating, HH and I talked a lot about "when we had a family."  It was very important to both of us that I stay home with the children.  Well... when we found out about little BC in July, we suddenly realized that we had a family - and that family had a new addition.  With only one semester left of seminary, HH hopefully would have a full-time job before BC was born - so that I could stay at home.

Proverbs 22:6
Teach a youth about the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.

We began praying immediately.  HH began applying.

For a while we heard nothing - not from God - and not from the various places HH applied to.  We began to get discouraged.  But, we knew that God had a plan.  He gave us a strong conviction that I am to stay home with BC.  We had no idea how, but we knew that God would provide in His good and always perfect timing.

Jeremiah 29:11-13
"For I know the plans I have for you"—this is the Lord’s declaration —"plans for your welfare, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.  You will call to Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.  You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart."

A few months ago, I wrote a blog called Downsizing.  God began working on mine and HH's hearts over the summer in regards to church planting.  Before we knew we were pregnant, we were literally ready to drop anything, sell everything, and go anywhere God wanted us to and plant a church.  And then we found out about little BC - but  not everything changed.  We were still willing to drop, sell, and go.  We just had to think about this other little life we now had responsibility of.  God began quietly closing church planting doors.  I admit, I was a little disappointed at first, but I knew God had a good and perfect plan for our family.  We still know that we are called to church planting in some facet - such as simply supporting current and future church plants.  But for the time being, we were not called to go and plant.  However, God has used our desires to move us to where we are now.

HH received a call one morning from a church southeast of where we currently reside.  He immediately hit it off with the Senior Pastor.  The church invited us down to meet the congregation, talk with the staff and youth group, and see if this this was where God was calling us.

I am so excited to announce that in one week, we will be moving our stuff to a new home - and in two weeks, we will be moving ourselves.  God has moved us, molded us, and guided us throughout these last few months to be ready for this position.  A year ago, if you had asked me if I could see us moving to the southeast part of the state and HH being the Student Pastor of a church, I might have laughed.  But today, I see how God has prepared us during the last year for this exact opportunity.

I am also ecstatic to announce that in two weeks, I will officially have a new job myself - a Full-time Wife and Mommy!  I am so thankful.  "My heart overfloweth."

BC's due date is only 93 days away!  I can hardly believe that D Day is so close.  I now will have the chance to actually get a nursery and home ready for this little bundle of kicking joy - and yes, I will post pictures : )
