These are a few of my favorite things

I remember the first time I heard this song from The Sound of Music.  My sweet Choir Friend introduced me to this movie.  It instantly became a "favorite" movie - and a "favorite" song.  I remember trying to come up with my own version with my favorite things.  Although I do not remember what my favorite things were as a 10 year old, I do know what some of my new favorite things are.

A few weeks ago, I had some spotting.  Not a lot of spotting - just a little - but it scared me.  My wonderful doctor assured me over and over that she was not concerned in the slightest - as long as the spotting did not get heavy or continue for an extended period of time.  I trusted her - but I was still anxious.  She offered to let me come in for a special appointment, but I knew my fears were unmerited.  I decided not to have an extra appointment, but just to wait the three weeks until my scheduled time.

Philippians 4:6-7
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.  And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

I said these verses to myself over and over during these last three weeks.  I knew in my head and heart that there was nothing to worry about... yet, I still worried. 


This little life was so precious to me before.  When I thought something might be wrong, I realized how even more precious it is.  I love BC with all of my heart.  This little unexpected life means the world to me.  I continually prayed, "Oh Lord, please keep little BC safe in my womb."

Yesterday afternoon, I heard my favorite thing.  I heard the sweet whooshing heartbeat of little BC.  As my eyes welled up with tears, I looked over at my Heroic Husband.  He was beaming at me.  Our sweet baby's heartbeat.  Nothing in the world is sweeter. 

Later in the evening, I heard my second favorite thing.  I heard HH talking to BC - saying how much he loves BC - saying how much God loves BC. 

Lord, THESE are my favorite things.  Thank you so much for such wonderful and sweet blessings. 

The sweetest sound in the world.
