When I heard, it made me first wrap my arms around my growing belly and "hug" little BC. Then, I thanked the Lord for sweet BC. "Oh Lord, thank You for BC. Thank You for BC's strong heartbeat (which we got to hear yesterday). Thank you for morning sickness (Although not having morning sickness does not mean your pregnancy is unhealthy, having morning sickness, caused by rapidly increasing hormone levels, usually indicates that your pregnancy is healthy. Thus, I am very thankful for my bout with morning sickness.). Thank You, Lord." I also prayed for BC. "Lord, please keep BC safe. Please help me to make smart and good choices. Please be with this pregnancy. Please be with the labor and delivery."
My Heroic Husband prays for BC every morning and evening. These are some of my favorite moments of the day. He lays his hands on my stomach and prays for our baby. He prays for us as we embark on parenthood. He prays for BC's life, that God will use it in mighty ways. He prays for BC's future spouse. It warms my heart.
Life is so precious. So delicate. So easily taken for granted. And then we are reminded by the pain of someone else just how amazing life is. And every, single life is precious.
Isaiah 43:4
"...you are precious in My eyes, and honored, and I love you."
My sweet cousin asked me a few days ago if I have ever seen the movie October Baby. I had (and yes, I cried like a baby during the whole movie). It is one of my favorite movies. She told me that it is one of the best movies to watch if you really want to understand what it is like to be adopted.
I agree. I also think it is one of the best movies to watch if you want to really see how precious life is.
We are God's precious creations.
Ephesians 1:4
...even as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love, He predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of His glorious grace, with which He has blessed us in the Beloved.
Before the world was even created, God chose us. He planned us. Even babies that are not planned by their parents, God has had planned since before time began.
October Baby is about a college girl, Hannah, who finds out she was not only adopted at birth, but she was also the survivor of a failed abortion attempt. She sets out to find more about her biological family. At the end of the movie, Hannah realizes how precious her life is. She realizes how much her parents love her. She realizes how much God loves her... how beautiful her life really is... how beautiful your life is.
BC's precious, beautiful, perfectly planned heartbeat - heard loud and clear at EIGHT weeks. |
