New Seasons and Stores

I am definitely a summer kind of girl.  I love to be warm.  I love being outside in the beautiful sunshine.  The weather is now beginning to turn a little crisp.  The leaves are starting to show the faintest hint of orange.

I do believe that the weather change literally came over night.  One day, I was running around in my pre-pregnancy shorts (which still fit!) and the next - I was shivering in those shorts.  Although my shorts still fit, my pants do not.  For a week, I suffered through, putting blankets all around me.  Until a few weekends ago - when my Marvelous Mother took me maternity pant shopping.

I admit, I have never really looked at maternity clothes.  I had a vague idea of what I would need - but no idea where to start looking.  And then, I found a Motherhood Maternity at our local outlet mall!

As MM and I began to look at all the selections, it was almost overwhelming.  But together, we found exactly what I needed - and my sweet MM even got me a few extra pieces to wear to church.

I cannot think of a time in my life where I have ever enjoyed wearing jeans.  As a little girl, MM let me wear "stretch" pants all the time.  It was very tragic for me in third grade when "stretch" pants went out of style - and all I could wear were jean pants.  And then - a few years ago - "stretch" pants, aka "leggings" now, came back into style!  I have lived happily in my "stretch" pants since then - and rarely turn back to denim.

I was pretty nervous about maternity pants.  Would I be forced to wear jeans again?  I really hoped that I would not.  As MM and I began to peruse the pant racks at Motherhood Maternity, my options were looking pretty "slim."  And then we saw the rack for me.  An entire round rack full of maternity "stretch" pants - and they were buy one get one half off!  They had long leggings and cropped leggings - in multiple colors.  They were so comfortable - and fit over little BC (who is now the size of a papaya) perfectly.  I tried on the "belly" to see if they would still fit through my third trimester.  Success!  I got some of both legging lengths in navy and black.

We also found some long sleeve cotton shirts.

I did not want to buy too many maternity clothes.  So far, I am still able to wear most of my pre-pregnancy shirts and dresses.  Between what I already have, and what we got this weekend, I should be well-dressed during these next four months.

On my way to work in maternity leggings and a non-maternity shirt
